Hey, everyone. I made an account specifically to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have about LBW this year. I had no peers with any prior knowledge of any kind of summer camp, let alone one of the best in the country. So I want to be there for anyone who needs it. Best of luck in your future endeavors!! (I am part of the class of 2018)

Stanford Humanities v Kelly Writing House

I got into both Stanford Summer Humanities Institute in Magical Realism and Globalization and Kelly Writing Summer Workshop and I can't decide between the two (I have a deadline extension from Stanford due to a financial issue). Anyways, I'm probably majoring in History but I really like creative writing so I'm kind of at a loss for what I should do. If anyone has been to either camp, please give me your insights! Thanks!

SSP Astrophysics vs UCSC SIP Astronomy/Astrophysics vs UCSB RMP

Hi everyone, I'm currently a junior deciding between several summer internships and research programs: - SSP Astrophysics - UCSC SIP Astronomy/Astrophysics - UCSB's Research Mentorship Program Has anyone attended either of these programs and is willing to answer a few questions? Intended major in college: Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering I'm leaning towards SSP because prestige + good organization of the program (learning and problem sets + research), especially since I haven't done much independent research before. However, I see that many of the SIP students have gone on to do very well in ISEF/Siemens/Regeneron etc, while SSP appears to be team based so I'm not sure how much people submit their work or add on to it for science fairs. Also, how prestigious is RMP? I did Stanford Precollege programming before 10th grade and COSMOS physics last year. Thanks!

Hi all! Didn't see a TASS discussion thread for this year, so decided to start one. I'm a Canadian sophomore (obviously) who's really excited for a chance at these awesome programs! Please share any insights you have on the process!

Cheap places to take summer courses

I am looking for a college to take summer courses to transfer to my current university. Reason being is because my university is charging way too much for 3-4 credit hour courses (between 2100 and 2600) this is ridiculously expensive. Is there any college that charges classes really cheap and will transfer credits? I am looking to pay no more than $200 per credit hour.

Hi guys, I'm an international applicant for RSI 2019. I saw on the other post that some other international applicant already got their result on the 27th last month, but I didn't get anything yet. Does anyone know what the dates for decision releases are (or were)?

So I've noticed that there are barely any posts about JCamp on CC, which is surprising. Is there anyone that has attended JCamp and would be willing to talk about the experience? Other applicants, what are you writing about?

UMass Amherst Research Intensives Summer Program 2019 (6-week program)

I was recently accepted into the UMass Amherst Research Intensives Summer Program (Markstein Lab). I read through the website, and the research experience seems legit. Does anyone have any information, personal stories, or input they could provide about this program? Any comments about the research experience, college environment, or social life are appreciated. Do the students get to do authentic, original research with the lab faculty? What does a student's daily schedule look like? How prestigious or competitive is this program? Finally, how does this program compare to other research programs in terms of the overall experience? Thank you guys for your help!

My son was planning to apply for NIH, but seems like they changed the age requirements to participate in SIP. Earlier it used be 16 and seems like now it is 17. Any one noticed?

Hey everyone! I'm creating this thread for anyone interested in applying to LEDA. LEDA is a selective, all-expenses paid, seven-week summer program at Princeton that helps students from low-income backgrounds apply to and succeed at the nation's top universities. I am a scholar from Cohort 14, so feel free to ask me any of your questions!
