Since I plan to pursue premed and hopefully med-school after that, I know that I need to show some form of involvement in the healthcare sector. I am truly passionate about this but am puzzled by one fact - the difference between volunteering at a hospital and shadowing a doctor. Many sites say that volunteering is deemd an extracurricular while shadowing is not. So, which type is more advisable for a resume. What advantage(s) does each one present? Because I live in India (though as a US citizen), volunteering opportunities are extremely scant. Thanks for your help!
