Summer Dual Enrollment

Hi everyone, I'm currently a high school freshman, and really don't have much planned for this summer, so I'm considering enrolling in DE at a local community college. I just have a few questions regarding DE's reputation and academics. So to provide a bit of background information, I'm currently considering doing a major in physics and would like to eventually enroll into some of the top physics programs in the nation. I'm partially doing DE so I can just show that I didn't waste my summer, but I'm also doing it to explore some fields I'm interested in (Physics, Astronomy & Japanese) which brings me to the following: 1) Does doing DE make you look like some academic-bot that only does courses for the GPA/Resume boost? 2) I only want to enroll in the courses to expand my knowledge of particular fields I'm interested in, and I don't even want the credits for completing the course, really. However, would I still have to report the classes I took when I apply for colleges as college credit if I only want to take the courses for enrichment? 3) In your guys' honest opinion, does this seem like a good idea, or am I taking the wrong approach? Thanks!
