Hi everyone, I'm currently a junior seeking to study Electrical Engineering or EECS in college, and I'm trying to decide between attending UCLA's High School Summer Research Program, or Yale's Summer In Astrophysics. So far, I've been accepted to YSPA.
Note: I have not yet received an acceptance for HSSRP. They are releasing decisions on April 8th. I'm planning for the case that I DO get accepted to HSSRP, in which case I will have to decide between the two programs.
The factors I'm thinking about are as follows:
- Interaction with professors/faculty(Possiblity of getting a rec letter)
- Formal lab work/Research
- Program Prestige
- Program relevance to intended major(for HSSRP I selected Aero, CS, EE, and MechE for 1st choices)
- Possibility of publishing a paper
Can anyone who has attended HSSRP or has knowledge about the program shed some light on any of the aforementioned criteria? All contributions are very much appreciated.
